Employer Kick-off Calls

We invite you to attend one of our live kick-off Zoom sessions to help you plan for your spring recruiting with us. We will host a brief 30-minute presentation to cover all the “need-to-know” details and then open the session to questions you and other employers may have. Topics include: employer recruiting protocols, career fairs, information sessions, job postings, interviewing, student organization involvement, and diversity and inclusiveness recruiting topics.

Career Fairs and Related Events  

Below you will find all the details about the Penn State University Park Campus career fairs for the spring 2024 semester. The dates and times have been confirmed

  • Spring 2025 Smeal Undergraduate Mock Career Fair
    • February 5th, 2025, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
    • Location: Smeal College of Business Atrium, University Park, PA
      • This event is a practice career fair for all Smeal students to attend!! As a company recruiter, you will provide valuable feedback to Smeal students on their pitch, resume, attire, and overall professionalism at our Mock Career Fair! You’ll have the opportunity to engage with students in a realistic, practice setting where your insights can make a real impact on their job-seeking skills. You’ll be reviewing students on key criteria, such as their ability to introduce themselves, maintain eye contact, deliver a strong pitch with a confident tone, effectively describe their experiences and skills, demonstrate knowledge about your company, and convey positivity and enthusiasm. Join us in preparing students to excel at the upcoming career fair! Historically we have had 200 – 500 students attend this event with 12 – 20 companies in attendance.

  • Spring 2025 Smeal Undergraduate Networking Expo
    • February 11th, 2025, from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
    • Location: Smeal College of Business Atrium, University Park, PA
      • The Smeal Business Career Center is excited to invite you to participate in our annual Networking Expo! This event is specifically designed to facilitate meaningful interactions between your company and our talented undergraduate students in advance of the career fair. It’s a unique opportunity to showcase your organization, discuss recruitment processes, and highlight available job opportunities. Unlike a career fair, the expo provides a more informal setting for students to engage directly with recruiters, ask questions about their majors and career paths, and gain valuable insights. Join us to connect with future talent and build lasting relationships with potential candidates!

    • February 12th and 13th, 2025, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
    • Location: Smeal College of Business Atrium, University Park, PA
      • Join us at our upcoming career fair to connect with talented Smeal students seeking internships, externships, co-ops, and full-time roles. This event provides a prime opportunity for you to engage directly with potential candidates, showcase your company, and explore a wide range of emerging talent all in one place.   • Spring 2025 Supply Chain and Information Systems Career Fair  
    • January 29th 2025, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
    • Location: Smeal College of Business Atrium, University Park, PA
      • The Spring 2025 will allow employers to target their recruiting efforts by meeting with qualified students, interviewing candidates, and selecting top students from Penn State supply chain, management information systems, industrial engineering, and information systems and technology programs

  • Penn State Spring Career Days 2025
    • January 28th, 2025, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
    • Location: Bryce Jordan Center, University Park, PA
      • The Spring Career Days allows employers to interact with all Penn State students during this fair. Spring Career Days is a university-wide recruitment event that brings 100s of employers on campus to connect with students regarding potential careers. The event takes place over two days; the first is an all-recruitment type job fair with on-site interviews offered on the day after. The fair is open to students of any academic year, major, or campus.

  • Hosting an Event at Smeal
    • Sign in to your NittanyLion Careers (Symplicity) page http://nittanylioncareers.psu.edu. Then you will scroll to the middle of the page until you see the words “Events” This area will show up after the “Upcoming Events” section. Once you have found the work “Events” you will see a button that says “Request New Information Session” Click on that. Once you click on the button please start filling out the form with all the requested information

      • Interview Room Reservations are open now for scheduling
      • 25 interview rooms available in the Bank of America Career Services daily
      • 4 interview rooms are available in 114 Business Bldg., with up to 10 rooms open depending on the date
    • Virtual interviewing:
      1. We can manage your interview schedules the same as if you were coming on campus
      2. If students have virtual interviews, they can request an interview room to provide a quiet space.  They have the option to use our technology or their own. https://careerconnections.smeal.psu.edu/ – click on the tab “Interview room & workshop requests”
    • Coffee Chats / Office visits

Reporting Your Student Internships or Full-time Updates

  • Ask the students that you have hired for an internship or co-op to report it to our office
  • Go to our website and select “Report your Internship” – https://careerconnections.smeal.psu.edu/student
  • Or provide us with a list of names/emails of students that you have hired, and we will reach out to them to request they report it.
  • This information provides us with statistics like hiring companies, average salary, location, and more

    • The Smeal Business Career Center encourages organizations to consider exploring the benefits of the Corporate Partner Program. The goal of this program is to provide enhanced recruiting and branding opportunities to organizations that provide annual support to the College through targeted giving means.     • In addition to the career fairs listed above your organization can also participate in professional development workshops that the Business Career Center puts on during the Spring 2024 semester  
    • Topics that have been covered in professional development workshops include
