Employer Relations Fall Kick-Off Calls   

We invite you to attend one of our live kick-off Zoom sessions to help you plan for your fall recruiting with us. We will host a brief 30-minute presentation to cover all the “need-to-know” details and then open the session to questions you and other employers may have. Topics include: employer recruiting protocols, career fairs, information sessions, job postings, interviewing, student organization involvement, and diversity and inclusiveness recruiting.

Below you will find all details about the Penn State University Park Campus career fairs for fall 2023 semester. The dates and times have been confirmed

 Fall 2023 Career Fairs:  

 Mock Career Fair – Corporate Partners & Master’s Corporate Partners Only 

  • September 6, 2023, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Location: Smeal College of Business Atrium, University Park, PA
  • The Mock Career Fair at Smeal is an event where our Smeal students can get feedback on their pitch, resume, attire, and more before heading into the career fair season. Students in attendance are required to speak with at least two companies at the event. It is also a great place for our Smeal students to have access to our Smeal Corporate recruiters at this practice career fair! There will be space limitations so register early to secure your spot

 Smeal Business Networking Expo

  • September 12, 2023, from 5:00 pm – 6:30
  • Location: Smeal College of Business Atrium, University Park, PA
  • The Smeal Business Career Center is excited to be hosting its 4th Networking Expo. The event is to provide an opportunity for your recruiters to network with Smeal students ahead of the career fair week. Companies can talk about their organizations, their recruitment, and/or opportunities that may be available. This is not a career fair! Students will also have the chance to ask questions regarding their major, field of interest, and/or career path.

Smeal Corporate Partner and Master’s Corporate Partner Career Fair: In-person

  • September 18, 2023, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Location: Smeal College of Business Atrium, University Park, PA
  • This event is for Smeal Corporate Partners and Smeal Master’s Corporate Partners ONLY. The fair is to connect 20+ company recruiters with our Smeal students who are looking for internships, externships, co-ops, and full-time opportunities.

Smeal Business Career Fair – Two Days of In-Person

  • September 19 and 20, 2023 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Locations
    • In-Person Location: Smeal College of Business Atrium, University Park, PA
  • The Fall 2023 Business Career Fair will be held on September 19 (in-person) from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, September 20 (in-person) from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. All companies looking to participate in their choice of date(s) depending on availability.
  • The fair is to connect Smeal company recruiters with our Smeal students that are seeking internships, externships, co-ops, and full-time positions.

Fall 2023 Supply Chain and Information Systems Career Fair – Three Days of In-Person and One Day Virtual 

  • August 29, 30, and 31, 2023, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm; September 6th, from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Locations
    • In-Person Location: Smeal College of Business Atrium, University Park, PA
    • Virtual Location: Brazen Platform
    • The Fall 2023 SCIS Career Fair will be held on August 29 (in-person) from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, August 30 (in-person) from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, August 31 (in-person) from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm and September 6th (virtually) from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. CSCR Corporate Sponsors and Smeal Corporate Partners can participate in their choice of dates(s) depending on availability.

Penn State Fall Career Days 

  • September 12 – 14, 2023
  • Location: Penn State Bryce Jordan Center, University Park, PA
  • The Fall 2023 Career Fair will be held from September 12 – 14 (in-person) from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
    • September 12 is for Non-Technical Full-Time Recruitment
    • September 13 is for Internship & Co-op Recruitment
    • September 14 is for Technical Full-Time Recruitment

 Information Sessions and Events  

  • Hosting an Event at Smeal
    • Log into NittanyLion Careers (Symplicity) under your profile, click on information sessions & events under the “Events tab” on the left, then click in the middle of the screen to request the event

 Interviewing  

  • Interviewing options with Smeal at PSU https://careerconnections.smeal.psu.edu/recruit-on-campus/
    • On-campus interviewing for Fall 2023: runs from October to December
      1. Interviews on campus will begin on September 26 – November 16
      2. Interview Room Reservations are open now for scheduling
      3. 25 interview rooms available in the Bank of America Career Services daily
      4. 4 interview rooms are available in 114 Business Bldg., with up to 10 rooms open depending on the date
    • Virtual interviewing:
      1. We can manage your interview schedules the same as if you were coming on campus
      2. If students have virtual interviews, they can request an interview room to provide a quiet space.  They have the option to use our technology or their own. https://careerconnections.smeal.psu.edu/ – click on the tab “Interview room & workshop requests”
  • Coffee Chats / Office visits
    • Request a coffee chat/office visit by emailing Krista White at kvj2@psu.edu
  • Ask the students that you have hired for an internship or co-op to report it to our office. Go to our website and select “Report your internship” https://careerconnections.smeal.psu.edu/student.  There is a possibility that they could receive 1 credit while working with our BA395A internship course https://careerconnections.smeal.psu.edu/resources/ba-395a-internship-credit/
    • OR provide us with a list of names/emails of students that you have hired, and we will reach out to them to request they report it.  This helps us with statistics like hiring companies, average salary, locations, and more.

Sponsorships 

  • The Smeal Business Career Center encourages organizations to consider exploring the benefits of the Corporate Partner Program. The goal of this program is to provide enhanced recruiting and branding opportunities to organizations that provide annual support to the College through targeted giving means. Corporate Partners are offered the first right of refusal for all undergraduate engagement opportunities highlighted in this packet. Membership ($10,000) is renewed on an academic year basis
