Penn State Career Services is seeking current Penn State undergraduate students (freshman, sophomore, juniors ONLY) interested in serving as Peer Career Assistants for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Peers will work 8-12 hours (average of 10 hours – during business hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday) each week at Bank of America Career Services or IST Career Solutions and Corporate Engagement Office, earning $8.50 an hour.
Peer Career Assistants primarily provide mock interviews (in-person, virtual, phone), resumes, and cover letter reviews, and assist students with career resources. There are additional opportunities to co-present at workshops for student organizations or classes and help promote Career Services at outreach events.
We are looking for students of all majors who have strong interpersonal skills and a passion for helping their fellow students prepare for an internship or job search.
Selected applicants must successfully complete a one-credit course during the spring 2021 semester with additional 2-3 hours of weekly observation hours outside the course, as well as complete a 2-day training session during the week of August 17, 2020. Interested students must submit a resume and cover letter.
