Meet Faith Gongaware, a senior SC&IS and Global & International Studies student who interned with Estee Lauder. During her time with the company, she developed a lot of data analysis and supplier relationship management skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the procurement function. This helped her identify what areas of supply chain as a whole she was interested in.
She absolutely loved her project that focused on supplier sustainability. Her second major is focused on the environment, so this was a perfect way to synthesize her studies in a real world context. Through the project, she made tangible progress for her category’s sustainability strategy and knew she was part of them taking the first steps to have a real positive impact through their work.
Her advice for students seeking internships is that career fairs are stressful no matter what – but try to make the most of it! Recruiters were just like you not too long ago, if you try your best to make it fun and acknowledge the challenges of recruiting, it’ll be easier for you both.
