On Saturday, April 8th2018, the PSMA earned the coveted award of the International Chapter of the Year by the American Marketing Association, bringing the Penn State Chapter into the Association’s Platinum Circle.  For many years, PSMA has consecutively earned the Top Five Chapter award. However, this year, the association was able to win this prestigious award in competition with 429 other Collegiate chapters and now has the honor of hosting the Annual International Collegiate Conference the next year.

The American Marketing Association is the nation’s largest network of esteemed leaders in various fields of Marketing all working together to publish varieties of award-winning content to develop resources for any marketer. Each year, the AMA hosts an International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana where more than 12,000 students and faculty attend to compete in various competitions and showcase what their individual chapter has done over the year.

Under the innovative student leadership of President Sam Ferro and Executive Vice President Mark Saba, the chapter was able to break records and bring the chapter to new heights of success. This award is the most prestigious award a collegiate chapter can earn and is only given to chapters who have gone above and beyond in the categories of Professional Development, Community and Social Impact, Fundraising, Membership, Communication, and Operations. PSMA has done extraordinary work and continues to provide students with valuable opportunities and tangible experiences.

In addition to this impressive award, PSMA received other honors and accolades throughout the conference. Furthermore, a team consisting of members Eddie Xu, Mike Jones, Rashmika Molligoda, and Jason Bixon took third place in the Student Digital Marketing Simulation Competition.
