What did you do during your internship?
“During my internship at Clark, I was primarily responsible for social media, WordPress sites, content creation and analyzing/reporting on marketing activities. I also had the opportunity to meet leaders of the company, participate in new item branding meetings and visit stores. Other highlights of working in the restaurant equipment, supplies and services industry included cooking in the company test kitchen, food trucks and learning about local businesses. We also had a dog-friendly office! From this internship, I got to experience how an idea goes from design to customer, and I was exposed to various metrics used to measure strategies. Along the way I sharpened my analytical skills and learned first hand what it takes to meet the needs of and maintain a high rate of growth in the restaurant industry. One of my favorite parts of the internship was the company culture, from the emphasis on new ideas to feeling like a part of the team from day one.”
What advice do you have for students looking for an internship?
“If you’re looking for an internship, my advice is to attend as many company info sessions/career fairs as you can! In addition, Smeal & Penn State Career Services have great resources to help with resumes and interviews!”
