Meet our spotlight intern this week, Paul Birch. Paul is a junior who completed a Liberty Mutual Actuarial Internship in Boston. He secured this internship through the Actuarial Science Career Fair. During his internship Paul learned about life insurance concepts, VBA programming, project planning, model composition, and training in both P&C and life insurance. Some of the highlights of his internship were converting life insurance reserving model into Excel, getting to know the company, other interns, and the city of Boston.
Tips/Advice: “Apply, apply, apply! The more applications you fill out, the better chance you have at getting something. But also make sure you research companies and have quality applications and interviews. Liberty Mutual has been a great company to intern for and I highly recommend it to students in any major”.
