Five Tips to Master Virtual Interview

By Goldman Sachs Campus Recruiting

Thanks to virtual interviewing, both live and recorded, Goldman Sachs is now able to interview more candidates than ever before from every corner of the world. Prepare for your next virtual interview using five simple tips.

  1. Test your technology
Make sure you have a strong WiFi connection and all necessary software and updates to allow your interviewing tool to work properly.
  2. Pick the right location
Find a quiet location with a clean, uncluttered background and good lighting, where you know you won’t be disturbed.
  3. Dress for success
Dress the same way for a virtual interview as you would in person. An interview is an interview no matter what.
  4. Look at the camera, not the screen
Looking at your computer’s camera simulates eye contact much better than looking at the screen. Hide the image of yourself if it becomes distracting.
  5. Practice!
Practice is essential. Record yourself doing a dry run, adjust and try again.
